Stopwatch for rehabilitation tests

Rehab Timer times the TUG, 6MWT, 10MWT and 30CST

Rehab Timer is the stopwatch for functional tests, built for physiotherapists and rehab teams. Start the test and get the time, speed, clinical threshold and change since the last session in seconds. Free, no account needed, in the browser.

The timed tests

Timed Up and Go (TUG)

One-tap timing to a tenth of a second, speed (6 m ÷ time), fall-risk thresholds ≥ 12 s (CDC STEADI) and > 20 s, walking aid recorded.

Protocol and norms →

6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT)

6:00 countdown, lap counter, vibration every minute, last unfinished length, early stop, predicted distance (Enright and Sherrill).

Protocol and norms →

10-Metre Walk Test (10MWT)

Up to 3 trials averaged over the central 6 m, comfortable or fast pace, walking categories (0.4 / 0.8 m/s).

Protocol and norms →

30-Second Chair Stand (30CST)

30 s countdown, large count button, ±1 correction, age and sex norms (CDC STEADI).

Protocol and norms →

Free stopwatch

Name your own test (single-leg stance, five times sit-to-stand, stairs…) and time it, with laps. Results with the same name are compared session after session.

Track the patient’s progress

Comparison with the previous session

TUG 18.4 s today versus 23.2 s two weeks ago: the improvement (−4.8 s, −21%) shows straight away.

Charts and PDF report

Progress chart per test with clinical thresholds, and a PDF report to send to the physician or add to the record.

Saved in Physia

When signed in, results go to the patient’s record in Physia and the patient can see them in Flow.

Who it is for

Physiotherapists and physical therapists, occupational therapists, geriatric and falls-prevention teams, sports rehab. Built for baseline assessments and re-assessments: each test’s protocol is one tap away and the screen stays on during the measurement. Available in 9 languages.

Frequently asked questions

How do you time a Timed Up and Go (TUG)?

Open Rehab Timer, choose the TUG and tap at the start (“Go!”) and again when the patient is seated. The app shows the time to a tenth of a second and the speed over 6 m, and flags an increased fall risk from 12 s.

What is a normal 6-minute walk test distance?

It depends on age, sex, height and weight. Rehab Timer computes the predicted distance and the lower limit of normal from Enright and Sherrill (1998) and compares them with the measured distance.

How do you calculate gait speed in the 10MWT?

Time the central 6 m of a 10 m walkway over one to three trials. The app computes the mean speed in m/s and classifies it with Perry’s thresholds: household (< 0.4 m/s), limited community (0.4–0.8 m/s) or community ambulation (≥ 0.8 m/s).

Do I need an account to use Rehab Timer?

No. Every test works without an account, in the browser, on a computer, tablet or phone. Signing in is only needed to save a patient’s results and view their history.

Is Rehab Timer free?

Yes, Rehab Timer is free. It is part of Physia, Procaryote’s clinical software ecosystem.

Rehab Timer is a measurement-aid tool for healthcare professionals. It does not replace clinical judgement or a certified medical device.
