How to do the exercise

Sets: 3

Repetitions: 8

Tempo: slow descent over 4 seconds

Description: Stand upright, with your arm raised laterally to shoulder height, in a 90-degree abduction position. Slowly and controllably lower your arm towards your body, resisting with an elastic band, engaging the shoulder abductor muscles in the eccentric phase. Ensure to keep the scapula stable and the trunk straight throughout the movement.

Tips: Focus on the slow descent to maximize strengthening. Do not let the arm drop quickly and avoid moving your trunk or scapula.

Progression: Gradually increase the resistance of the elastic band or the number of repetitions when the exercise becomes too easy.
